Clearwater Beach Marina is a brand new facility which just opened up on December 1, 2022. Our boat is the first private yacht in the marina. When we arrived, the friendly staff helped us with our lines. They have new, floating wooden docks, 2 bathrooms per gender (one with shower) and access to the Marriott's pool and bars. They are within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and stores. There is no fuel nor pump out.

Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina is very popular with Loopers. It has friendly, efficient staff, fuel and pumpout. The staff helped us back into the fixed, wooden dock. There are 2 bathrooms (one with shower) per gender. The marina is close to many great restaurants and within walking distance to a Publix market. They also have hair and nail salons nearby and a beautiful beach.

Point South Marina is very nice. They have brand new fixed wooden docks which were put in place 6 months ago after the devastation of Hurricane Michael. The staff are friendly and efficient. They lead us through the channel passed the fuel dock and caught our lines at the dock. The marina has 2 bathroom stalls and a single shower per gender. They have 1 complementary washer/drier and free pump out at the docks(!). They also have a swimming pool but it was closed. Restaurants and grocery stores are about a mile away. If they had a courtesy car or a restaurant on site, we'd give them a 5 star rating.

The staff at Holiday Harbor directed us to the long, fixed plastic dock near the Sunset Grill restaurant. They also have marina docks around the bend. The staff are friendly and caught our lines in the rain. The facility has a ship's store, 1 bathroom per gender and a single shower. There are 2 coin washer/driers. A grocery store is about a mile away and they don't have a courtesy car.

Tensaw River Cut Off is a huge, beautiful anchorage that can hold 40+ boats. We went about a mile up the river and dropped our hook. We used a trip line and anchored in 11 feet of water with 50 feet of chain. We did not use a stern anchor since the river is wide and the current held us in place. We had 2 bars of T Mobile service and felt no wakes during the night. There was plenty of room for 40+ boats. We did not go ashore. Our Rocna Vulcan anchor held well and came up clean.

We had planned to anchor at Bashi Creek, but it looked too narrow, so we anchored on the other side of the river at alternate Bashi Creek. We were in 5 feet of water with 30 feet of chain and our Rockna Vulcan held well. We used a trip line to identify our anchor location and to help bring the anchor up in case it got snagged. 2 other boats were also anchored here. We all had stern "anchors" either via stern ties to other boats or an actual anchor. We had 1-2 bars of T Mobile service. 1 tow without barges passed us in the night and we had just a slight wake.

This is our second stay at Prizer Point marina and we love it! Greg, the owner, and his staff are very friendly and efficient. Greg and his wife are currently doing the Loop, but he drove in to make sure that diesel fuel delivery system was fixed. The technician determined that there was a faulty capacitor in the fuel tank. This is not the type of problem that marina staff typically deal with. We were given a complimentary night at the transient dock while we waited for it to be fixed. We just couldn't pass up the fantastic rate: $4.36 / gallon for diesel and $4.09 for regular gas! The KOA campground and restaurant will be closing for the season in 1 week (early November 2022). However, marina services including transient slips, fuel, bathrooms and showers remain open. The closest laundry has been shut down because it is the oldest area of the campground and has been winterized. Another on site laundry facility is a complementary golf cart ride away. Boaters are asked to call Tiffany (who lives on a boat at the marina) for special requests. Her number is 270 625-3716.

We arrived at Paducah Transient City Dock at about 11 am. Luckily, Looper friends were there to direct us and catch our lines. It was windy and complicated since you need to approach the dock at a 90 degree angle to avoid shallow depths. There are also many wakes from the tows that pass by. We were literally rocking the whole 2 day visit. The transient marina has fuel and a composite floating dock with long pilings. The ramp to the shore is an engineering feat. There are no restrooms, showers nor laundry. A short walk brings you to restaurants and attractions but you'll need to catch a ride to Walmart for groceries.

On the first day we walked to the Quilt Museum and viewed the amazing pieces of art. We also saw the murals painted on the flood wall which depict the interesting history of Paducah. While VP of the US under Truman, local Barkley was instrumental in getting an Atomic plant built in Paducah. This lead to a big population boom. The town is really cute yet has a huge Center for the Performing Arts and Maritime Training School. Most of the Tug drivers earned their education here.

On the second day we took a cab to the Walmart shopping center to buy groceries and oil.

Dredging operations are underway at the Kaskaskia Lock and Dam, so we were not able to tie to the lock wall. Instead, the lockmaster allowed us to anchor near the dam. The dredge moved his rig so we and a buddy boat could get through. There was not much room between the shore and the dredging pipe, and at times the water depth was only about 5 feet. We made our way into the anchorage with some difficulty. We dropped our Rocna Vulcan in 10 feet of water with 60 feet of chain. By nightfall, there were 4 boats packed into the tight area. We felt lucky to get a spot, but it might have been a better idea to drop the hook at Kaskaskia bend anchorage. Unfortunately, we don't know the water depth there but we were told at Hoppies that all anchorages on the Mississippi River are low.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Henry Harbor. Since the water level in the marina is low, we stayed on the old lock wall and tied to rebar rings. This wall was built in 1870 and it was the first lock on the Illinois River. It has power, water, internet and clean port-o-potties to use. Fuel and pump out too. The showers and bathrooms are located in the restaurant which is owned by someone else and currently closed. (The marina owners have a standing offer to purchase the restaurant but it is tied up in a legal fight between the owners and leasers). This marina is located in an ideal spot between Ottowa and Peoria. It provides a nice protection from the wakes passing tow/barges. The owners are boaters who manage the marina while running a full time family heating and plumbing business. Pretty amazing!

We took the car to a local grocery store and the Northshore restaurant next door. We had a nice, very reasonably priced dinner. The wifi didn't work on board but we had good cell phone service.

The staff were friendly and efficient and they accept credit cards. The renovations reported by the last reviewer are still underway. Unfortunately, the internet didn't work. The on site museum was closed on Sunday and Monday so we didn't get a chance to see it. We did not walk into downtown to see the restaurants and stores since it was raining.

We were lucky to get a slip at The Sportsman's Inn since other marinas (e.g. Killarney Mountain Inn) were full. We had planned to go to Covered Portage anchorage, but tucked in to the marina for 2 days due to an expected thunderstorm and winds up to 40 knots the next day. The marina has floating slips on 2 sides of the channel. Our side had only 2 bathrooms and 2 showers, which were not enough for the number of boats. Additional showers and paid laundry were across the channel. The internet was spotty at best. Fuel was the most expensive that we've seen on the Loop. Restaurants and a small grocery are within walking distance. We were disappointed with this marina since we felt it was too expensive ($2 per foot + $20/night for 30 amp power + a required $10 per night for a "resort fee"). We were told that the resort fee covered the bathrooms, showers, laundery, water taxi, garbage (which are normally covered with the nightly fee) and use of the canoes, pool and grounds at nearby Killarney Mountain Inn. We felt that the resort fee should have been optional since we didn't use the Killarney Mountain Inn amenities.

Wasauksing (Parry Island) swing bridge was reported to have 18 feet of vertical clearance. Our parade of 2 boats could clear that, so we were not concerned about reaching the bridge at an odd hour for an opening. Luckily, we arrived at 9 am as the bridge was opening for another boat. It looked much lower than 18 feet! Apparently, a new vertical clearance measurement is warranted.

Port of Orillia is a nice marina with newish floating docks. We paid 10 CAN to have access to the clean bathrooms/showers and "free" laundry. They have no pump out or fuel. The main negative is that many slips had weeds (eelgrass?). We were concerned about sucking up vegetation into our engine and air conditioning strainers so we changed slips. Marina staff rake out the weeds occasionally. A nice park, restaurants and stores are within walking distance.

Gannon Narrows anchorage is popular with the locals so there were many small boats when we arrived. It's a pretty stop just before the Gannon Narrows bridge. We anchored in 15 feet of water with 70 feet of chain and our rocna/vulcan anchor held well. By sunset all of the small boats were gone and we just had a houseboat, another Looper boat and Calypso. They have a fabulous ships store that had almost everything we needed (new set of round fenders, zincs and hose vents) and we ordered a few other items. There's a nice grass field, pavilion and BBQ grills. They even have 2 loaner cars! We drove downtown to the grocery store and an auto parts store (to pick up an oil filter wrench). We changed the oil in our engine and the marina staff took it away for recycling. They also have heated winter storage and a boatyard. All for very reasonable rates. If we could give a higher star review, we would! Albemarle Plantation Marina is a do not miss stop! We were given 2 free nights as a promotion for The Albemarle Loop (google it - many other marinas also give 48 hours of free dockage). The staff and members gave a warm welcome. The docks, bathrooms/showers and free laundry are nice and clean. We rented a golf cart and explored the course and beautiful grounds. We also enjoyed a nice meal at the on site restaurant. Curtis Stokes, the Marina and Golf Course sponsored a pig roast that was complementary for transient boaters. It was delicious and a great deal of fun. We plan to return to participate in the 2023 Albemarle Loop!

We stayed here for one night and it met our needs. We had to maneuver around many crab pots. We anchored in 8 feet of water with 55 feet of chain and our Rocna anchor held well in the mud. It's a beautiful, secluded spot. We had the place to ourselves. There was a sailboat anchored on the other side of the ICW and they might have had better wind protection. We had 4 bars on our T Mobile phones. There were lots of flies and a few hornets. The wind helped to keep other bugs at bay. We would stay here again.

They also have fuel at the dock. Unfortunately, the on site restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays so we didn't have a chance to check it out. We used the courtesy car to drive to the local Food Lion and tour downtown. It's really cute. Next time we'll need to stay longer.

We loved this place! There are not many anchorages in this area of the AICW. We were quite pleased to find Sloop Point Anchorage since it was a beautiful, well protected area. We arrived within an hour of high tide and checked out Sloop Point Anchorage G21 in the way in. We decided to continue on to Sloop Point Anchorage G13 since the depth finder showed only 4.3 feet of water. We put out 70 feet of anchor chain in 9 feet of water and our Rocna anchor held well. It was a Sunday and some boaters passed by so we felt some wakes. However, the traffic stopped after dark and we had a pleasant, peaceful night. We stayed only 1 night and did not go to shore. We will come here again!

St James Marina was built for the tenants of a condominium complex. It is about 5 miles from downtown Southport and there are no restaurants nor grocery stores within walking distance. There is only one bathroom/shower per gender and one washer/dryer. The staff and residents are very friendly. One resident actually gave us a small bag of rice when we mentioned that we were looking for a store. We stopped here since it was cheaper ($1.50/ft with Boat US discount) than other options. Next time we'll probably choose a different marina.

Our boat stayed at Osprey Marina for about 3 weeks while we flew home to celebrate mom's 87th birthday and take care of some business. We knew our boat was very safe at this well secluded harbor. The staff are friendly and offer free pump outs. The marina docks, bathrooms/showers and laundry are nice and clean. There is a ships store and a fuel dock. We stayed on V dock, which is a long dock in the entryway of the marina and had a little trouble with the internet. They supply golf carts to travel between V dock and the facilities. Unfortunately, there is not a restaurant on site but a friendly marina resident (Bill) is an Uber driver and he's available to drive you to one (as well as the local Costco). We did not go into Myrtle Beach, proper, on this trip due to other priorities. That's ok since we didn't deal with the hassles of Spring Break crowds. We will definitely stay here again!

We anchored at near low tide in 10 feet of water and put out 60 feet of chain. Our Rocna anchor held well for the two nights that we stayed. We took our dinghy into one of the two free day docks and enjoyed the sites and restaurants. We saw the Maritime Museum and took the walking tour of many of the 50 gorgeous historic homes. A Winn Dixie store is within 1 mile of downtown. When we pulled up the chain and anchor, it was covered in black pluff mud, which we washed off with our anchor hose. The mess was well worth the visit. We saw an alligator swimming across the channel as we departed. Georgetown is now our favorite stop on the Loop!

As stated in other reviews, Harbormaster Steve is very friendly and helpful. He caught our lines under really windy conditions and made sure that we had a nice visit. This marina has the cleanest bathrooms, showers and laundry room that we have ever seen. It is about 5 miles away from Charleston and a loaner car is available. Beautiful anchorage! We stayed here for 2 nights. The first night we had the entire anchorage all to ourselves. On the second day we encouraged other Loopers to join us and we had 5 boats total. The channel is narrow and our water depth ranged from 17 to 30 feet. The wind was always from the North and the tides changed so we swung 180 degrees. We put out 120 feet of chain and had no problems.

We took our dinghy to the dock, walked around the island and took the free guided tour of the Plum Orchard mansion. It was wonderful and we encourage others to do the same.

We tried to anchor in No Name harbor, but it was full so we anchored just outside for one night. We were in 15 feet of water with 110 feet of rode. There were at least 12 other boats. It's a nice anchorage, but as stated previously, boats speed by and give sizable wakes. We used our flopper stoppers, so that helped. It would have been nice to dinghy into the restaurant, but we chose to stay on board due to the wakes. We were treated with a free concert.

This was a beautiful anchorage. Dolphins welcomed us. We had no problems with the anchor or bugs (the wind probably kept them at bay). There were 2 other boats and a sailboat close to shore had to anchor again. The current caused us to spin around several times (we saw the track on Nebo). This was a great place to anchor prior to our 10 hour cruise to Marathon. We got an early start and used our radar and GPS to navigate the channel prior to sunrise. Nice!

The people are friendly and helpful. The facility is "a luxury RV resort" so it caters to very nice, expensive RVs. Everglades City is the self-proclaimed snow crab capital so be sure to try some (it's good, but a lot of work … we prefer Dungenous crab). The only negatives are that there is a very strong current (the Okeechobee drains here) so if you are on the long dock, it's best to turn around and tie port to. It's also pretty expensive ($150/night regardless of boat length and this includes taxes and fees). We'll worth it and we'll go again!
