Do not confuse this marina with the Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina! Physically they are close to each other, but the 1st one is another 6 miles or so away by boat and more expensive. This marina is attached to a Marriott hotel and doesn't have a lot of slips. Staff were very helpful, but this was more like staying at a hotel than a marina. We did have access to the hotel laundry and pool, but they wouldn't give us a key card, we had to find a staff member to be let in the secure doors. Felt like a 2nd class citizen. The place was clean with clean bathrooms and showers. The location was excellent and a close walk to everything.

We were here Nov. 3, 23. The staff helped us get tied off on the fuel dock then helped get into a tight spot for our slip and tied us off. This was our first marina with the tides and I am happy they helped secure the boat to the dock. Docks could use a little work and I had an issue with one 50-amp outlet. The bathroom was shared with the restaurant and the shower room was clean, but off the restaurant. A good price and I am glad we stopped here.

Not a fan. I couldn't say the staff were friendly, they were not rude, just there. No amenities. They had fuel, but you must trust what they tell you is the price on the pump farther up near the building. We traveled too long to look for an anchorage, next time we will know better.

We were here Oct. 30, 23. Great staff. We came in with some higher winds; staff helped us get tied off at the fuel dock and another staff member helped us get tied off at our slip. Clean restrooms and laundry area and a lot of good boaters were met. They also had a loaner car that helped with our provisioning. A number of Loopers were here waiting for November 1 to go below the 32 parallel

We were here Oct. 28, 23. They have a channel well marked, unfortunately the could only get one or two boats at the fuel dock at a time and caused a backup. I was pushed by the wind into the shallow area and touched the bottom, but was able to get back into the channel without incident. The staff was good to work with. The docks had some cleats pulled out that made tying up challenging. They had a loaner car available and clean restrooms available.

We stopped here Oct. 23, 23. We were docked close to the restaurant and bar, but I think all the slips are close as the marina is pretty small. We had excellent service from the staff and the bathrooms were clean. Food was good at the restaurant. There wasn't a lot of space to take the dog for a walk, but it all worked out.

We were here Oct. 22, 23. Not much to look at, but the people here are super nice. The water was pretty shallow as you come in but they do provide you with enough information to ensure you are in deep enough water. We were at the last dock and enjoyed the quietness of the area and wildlife we could see from the boat. We would definitely come back again. The bathrooms were dirty, and we didn't use the laundry. The store was open, but we didn't really need anything. We didn't get fuel or need a pump-out.

The docks are well kept, although at 4' draft I was bringing up a lot of mud but never hit bottom. When we left we picked up some fuel and the dockhand was very helpful. Lot's of walking and exploring can be done which we always appreciate. Price is right and friendly staff.

Town was just a little farther walk. The resort had a loaner car so we could do some provisioning. We used the pool and clean laundry room to get us ready for our next run down the river. We were here Oct. 13, 23. Hoppie's Marina isn't much of a marina! A couple of barges to tie off, fuel, and power. But, the owner gave us an insight on what to expect until we got to Green Turtle Bay. The owners were kind AND they are there to dispense the needed fuel to recreational boaters. In addition, a small walk into the cutest little town was worth staying at Hoppie's. The briefing by the owner and the town certainly made this stop worthwhile and I would stop here again.

We were here too late in the season I guess as the pool and hot tub were closed (Sept. 21, 23.) That was a bummer! The marina is secure with locked gates that we never found open. It is a large marina and had a large captain's lounge. It is close to downtown and within walking distance of a number of restaurants. For a large grocery store though a car is needed to get there. We had a couple of farmer's markets on the weekend for us to stock up on veggies. We would definitely come back here.

There were two local boats anchored here and one of them broke their anchor rode in the middle of the night. Glad we were not able to set anchor initially as that would have been a close call. It was windy and we were getting some good waves coming from upriver and there is not a lot of protection from the wind. Plenty of waves from the wind but we had plenty of comfort to sleep though the night. It was shallow coming into the mouth of the river, but we stayed away from the very shallow areas. We swung with the current until the tide change us 180 degrees. We were at 29°43'47.3"N 84°58'42.4"W and were able to get to shore easily to take the dog for a walk.

Quite at night and beautiful. We had no wake issues and no boats went by us. We found a good spot to bring the dinghy ashore to walk the dog and explore. We anchored at 30°01'18.1"N 85°28'00.6"W and beached the dinghy at 30°01'11.0"N 85°28'15.0"W.

Not a ton of wind protection, but we didn't really need it. Easy access to shore as I asked a restaurant to use their dock for my dinghy (I did patronize the restaurant.) A nice store for fishing supplies was a block walk away. There is a boat launch by the bridge that provided a great place to walk the dog. I would anchor here again. We were at 30°23'31.2"N 86°10'14.7"W

There were 5-6 boats with one boat farther upriver than us. We had great holding with plenty of protection. We should have taken the dinghy farther up a dock to walk the dog. The shoreline along here is all muddy and not easy to take the dog for a walk.

Avoid this place in 2024. The City let the management go and is running it themselves in 2024. No pool, no hot tub, no bar, no store, no amenities. It appears the City wants to close the marina. No one knows what is happening with the place. Check back in 2025 to see what happened. Much different than my previous review.

We paid $50 flat rate. Not sure if that included an AGLCA discount or not. We fueled up and the staff was very helpful catching lines here and at our slip.
The slip was the tightest I have ever had, but we made it in and the boat in front of us left before us so we could get out easily.
The fixed docks need some work but we felt very comfortable and safe. One restroom for male and females shared with the outside bar/restaurant. The bathroom was clean. One total shower we didn't use.
There really is nothing within walking distance. We did tie up the dinghy at a neighboring marina to go to the West Marine Express.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Nice place and a step up from where we stayed on the rivers coming down. But, way overpriced. We paid $3.00 a foot with the AGLCA discount. Electric was included. Beautiful floating docks. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Our slip was right in front so very convenient to the restrooms. We also had to show our AGLCA card, boat documentation, and insurance. None of which is a big deal. We always have a copy ready if requested.
Tons of shopping available if you are into that and a number of restaurants and bars you can patronize. Groceries are an Uber ride away so don't plan on a provisioning run from here.
If it wasn't for the price I would give 4 stars.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Old rusty barge, but I felt comfortable and safe. You will get waked by the barges, but the folks there know what they are doing. Last chance for fuel so fill up if needed.
Nothing here other than a tie up and easy walk into town. Good folks are running the place though.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Great holding, some wakes thru the night but I slept really good and that is what matters. Dinghy to the bridge to land a good slopping beach to walk your dog. We had good cell reception with T mobile and Verizon.

Stayed here in 2018 (yes, I know a very late review!) The location was just excellent. Fixed docks (not a fan of fixed docks). Like someone else said, the wifi was bad. We enjoyed watching the high speed ferries come and go. Downtown was excellent, we rented bikes and took a horse pulled tour. Great place to say for 3-4 nights.
