Our Bimini is 14 ft 6 ('97 Mainship 350) so we lowered our mast (18x 8"). Looks like we had about 2 ft of clearance over the bimini, so 16 feet 6 inches clearance perhaps..

Small day dock, might accommodate a trawler and a smaller pleasure boat. Weaker floating dock. Wasn't room for us there with on Express Cruiser docked. Stay on the north side, channel going in marked with Green markers, keep them on your port going in and don't forget that going OUT!! I almost did! Can anchor inside a little ways as we saw a sailboat or two. Met a friend and rafted up, and they said marina is so so, not much there.. I think they would have given the marina a 2 or 3 star rating. But everyone is waiting on the Erie to open, so you take what you can get!

Stayed several days on a mooring ball and utilized the "Launch Service" which was great, just call and they come out to get you and bring you into the marina, full use of facilities! Great town, lots of restaurants and access to stores, we walked the entire island all the way to the bridge! The Lobster House $49 lobster/clam special is the BOMB!!! If you are in City Island you must go there to eat! Also "City Island Pizza" was great too! 30 mph winds, but we were safe and secure on the mooring! Stayed 4 nights. Took a nice cruise up the sound one day, lots of beautiful homes. Also great eating across the sound in Port Washington and from what I see, they have a dinghy city dock! Can dock at Louie's (highly recommend, renovating while we were there, but should be open by now 6/11/25) if there is space!!

Dock Master was very nice, good wifi and nice docks! We were near bridge but calms down at night. Walked the river streets and nice homes and restaurants. Budget a couple hours for museums, free with dockage.. Old town was several miles away from the river so take bikes if you have them. NO WAKE ZONE from lighthouse in! Sherriff was yelling at us from their dock as soon as we entered the river (right side). I thought I was going slow enough, but not quite. Lighthouse is private, can't dock and explore, must take tour if you want to see it. Overall a great experience. Stayed 1 night.

Tom, the Dock Master is the absolute BEST! Went out of his way for a delivery we had scheduled, grabbed our lines and tied us up and made sure we had a place to stay the second night! Town is awesome, eclectic atmosphere! Beware that many shops are closed Monday & Tuesday! We missed the famous Saturday Farmers Market. Lots of current, but was not an issue as it's all one long face dock and they are brand new!! No wifi at the north end of the dock, but you can walk to the office and do what you need.

AGLCA discount and cheapest diesel you will find! Everything was delightful! If you rely on Uber to get to West Point (14 mikes, 17 mins) and schedule by making a reservation in the future, make sure address of club is correct. Our morning Uber went somewhere else and wouldn't come get us, so a member of the club drove us and we made our times slot! And they let us down for the 3hr advanced scheduled reservation for 5pm also, (status was "waiting for driver to pick up job"... and then at 5:10 Uber canceled the reservation and sent an apology...) So we offered the money, $50, to one of the school bus guys across from WP and he used his personal car, ( as they closed at 5!!) to take us to the marina! SO HAVE A BACKUP PLAN!

Like other say, enter from the south at the waterworks bldg and continue straight in, 12-18ft. we anchored between the circular ruin object in the water and the bank.. plenty of water.. Each Amtrac train will blow its horn as it is entering a tunnel till about 11pm.. starts again about 5am, but still a peaceful Anchorage! Didn't feel any wakes! we then went across to Cornwall Yacht Club for a marvelous experience.. AGLCA discount and cheapest gas you will find. They will schedule a truck to bring fuel to the pump out dock, so give them a call to make arrangements

Sunday Memorial day weekend. Great anchorage! Anchored just S of the point, first shot, 3:1 scope in 15 ft of water. 10 mph breeze fron NW. Marked mooring balls are for Yacht club (stipe), single white ball could not get line more then 2 ft up, covered in mussels and must be wrapped around..?? So we dropped hook north of and then next to demasted sailboat. Room for about 8+ boats. Inlet is wide, deep and well marked! Weekend fishing boats are everywhere and will wake you in the inlet, just be prepared. we came in from the north just outside the jetty, even though we came from the south (Cape May). stay on N side of inlet. occasional commercial fishing boats go by but didn't disturb us. ATT reception good. Beach at the Anchorage just north of us, popular weekend hangout but was empty when we left in the AM, partners must have gone home in the evening. Same conditions leaving the inlet Memorial day 6am, waked by everyone! Best to go fast and get outside..

Dock was nice. 2 blocks to town. NOTE! GATE to exit/enter LOCKS at closing time (5pm).. Could not find an alternative way out.. Dock is in great condition! Obviously you will hear the traffic in bridge, but settles at night.
