Turn into the Rondout Creek just north of Green 73 and continue upstream about one mile to the Hudson River Maritime Museum floating dock located in front of the museum. The dock is raised about 2 feet off the water and is in good shape, with solid cleats, potable water spigots and 30 and 50 amp electric service from power pylons in very good shape. Approach depth is greater than 15' MLW and the dock depth measured 15 feet MLW. The dock is separated from walking traffic in front of the museum by a gangway to the pier but without gate. During our stay there was no issue with unwanted foot traffic on the dock. Buoys and Gulls restrooms/showers are just off the dock and are coded for entry. They are clean, in good shape, and are outfitted for handicap access. Dock Wi-Fi measured 24/4 with a half full dock.

We could write a separate article about the Hudson River Maritime Museum and another article on the Wooden Boat School which is on the property. Both locations are worth spending a day learning about the history of the Kingston, the river and four centuries of boats that worked it. We had planned to spend an hour at the museum but it easily turned into three.

Downtown historic Kingston is right next to the HRMM Docks, with several very good restaurants, stores, and shops. Kingston was the terminus of the old Delaware and Hudson canal that used to supply New York City with coal, building bricks, stone, cement, and ice during the 1800's. We love this stop.

Great lower cost facility with good restrooms, power and water. Quiet, protected marina short distance off the Hudson. Staff calls in advance to give you detailed directions into the marina. Lots of restaurant options in the area. Good help getting tied up to floating dock. We weren't able to visit the museum because it was closed, but it looked fantastic. Great boating community and it shows.

Easy to book on Dockwa. Jim was very helpful in tying up to the floating dock and getting us oriented. Sheltered and quiet location, with a nice waterfront, with good restaurants. Nice bathrooms and showers and don't miss the museum, especially since free admission is included in the dock fees. 30A electric, no water, laundry, pump-out or fuel, although Jim offered to help get us them elsewhere if we needed. We would return.

    Hudson River Maritime Museum
    No fuel
    no pump out
    Floating docks
    Great response from the dockmaster

We have a 50 foot trawler. We docked right under the 9W bridge. The highway noise didn't bother us.
We were right in front of the tour boat, which left at 11 and 2:30. It was fine.
We got great help docking. There is significant tide.
We were able to walk to town and the various restaurants. The museum was great, as was the lighthouse tour. The bathrooms had 2 stalls and 1 huge shower. There aren't a lot of boats able to dock here. Very calm and nice to view the creek.

Very nice marina with great dock help. Docks are floating which is great. Restrooms are nice. No laundry at Marina. Ice is cheap Maritime Museum has free admission for people who dock here. Restaurants very close by and some stores. Ole Savannah has great Happy Hour with free appetizers. Groceries and other places a little farther away. There is a free bus service but you hardly see them! There are Lyfts and Ubers available. Kingston is very spread out but an interesting stop.

Dock master was waiting for us on the dock in the pouring rain, even though it was an easy in face dock and it was obvious where we needed to go. NIce waterfront business district, had a great pizza at Savona's. Cool little museum and Wayne at the wooden boat school next door gave us a private tour, while he was waiting for his night class to start.

Wanted to stay more than one night, but they were all booked up.

The museum has not made a commitment to transient dockage. Docks are weathered but good power. Wifi is weak. The Maritime and Trolley Museums are well worth a visit. Easy walk to town. Round Out Creek provides good protection.

It is an easy approach for a side tie and you are literally right in front of the museum. If you are going, you need to reserve your dates early. We had to alter our schedule since a tall ship was coming in for a 7 day stay and they needed all the dock space. Electric was fine. However, we did not see any water on the pier. There are showers and bathrooms available with a code, so you are not tied to the museum's hours. It was a quick, level walk to Ol Savannah restaurant with one of the best gumbo's around.
