It's a beautiful anchorage with clear water and sand bottom, and we took the dinghy to the Leelanau Cellars wine tasting room with great dinghy docks. Restaurant too. Holding was great in sand, and anchor came up clean. Depth was 6'-12' right on the edge between the shallow and deep areas (clearly visible in sand). We were there on a calm night so not much wind and protected on three sides. It could get rocky with winds from the south. Loved it there.

Draft: 4.5'Overall Rating:2Holding:5Wind Protection:5Current Flow:1Scenic Beauty:4Shore Access:1Protected anchorage but a lot of waves from the south. If the wind is not from the south, but from the east or west, your boat will rock excessively. You will have to anchor close to shore unless you have a long rode (350’ or more) to get a proper scope ratio. There is a very quick transition between the 3-6 feet depth around shore vs the 35-80 foot depth in the middle. Lake Michigan is at a very high water level currently so check your charts low datum point vs actual lake levels. You should be able to get much closer to shore then the charts readings.
There is a good restaurant and bar “Knot just a bar” that you can dinghy to.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
