Free Dock Review for Coxsackie Riverside Park Town Dock

Stayed here two nights - free dock. Thought there was two 100 ft docks but there's only one. The other seems to have been damaged as it was sitting on land. Exposure to wake was cumbersome so be ready with fenders. Cute little town that is walkable from boat. Very dog friendly as there is a park right there. Ate at Patrick Henry's twice. All in all was a good stay for being free.

We liked half Moon Bay Marina before we even arrived!! We booked our five night stay on Dockwa two weeks before arriving. We then called the marina directly and spoke to Steve regarding enterprise Rent-A-Car and having Amazon orders delivered. Steve is 100% the most helpful dock master we have dealt with. He went above and beyond giving us details on both things and made us feel at home. The stay there was great - all went smooth with docking and set up. There's a small town very close with good restaurants, grocery stores and laundromat. We rented a car and went to Croton Gorge Park, Bear Mountain State Park, and of course, Walmart for boat stuff. We stopped at Peetskills and walked around. They have a great little used bookstore called Bruised Apple Books & Music. One of the best I've been in so far. Croton Point Park is a nice walk from the marina and dog friendly. The marina does not have laundry facilities but because we had a rental car, I did large loads of laundry at
My 3 Suds. We had a great dinner at Piato Greek kitchen. We had family with us and they took the train into New York City for the day and said the ride to and from was easy and comfortable and only $22 per person round-trip. The views from the marina are beautiful! We used the self serve pump-out on our way out and thought it worked pretty good.
Kudos to Steve for being so friendly and also their website - one of the best I've seen for a marina.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We stayed here over Memorial Weekend 2025 and had a great time! AGLCA harbor host Doug Smith reached out to us ahead of time to invite us to stay and so thankful he did. He and his wife Susan were wonderful hosts and the members were very welcoming as well. Good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Doug helped in finding a radiator cap for me as I needed new one. Thank you Doug! There were several Loopers and we all were welcomed to join the SIYC Memorial Day BBQ. Clean restrooms/showers and free laundry. SIYC and close to everything! Don't miss the Calvert Maritime Museum - short walk away. Great stay!

Easy ride to dinghy dock with our dog and yes, a small park is right there. Short walk to small town with cute stores and probably anything you need - no major stores though. Several restaurants - had a good lunch at Ava's which is dog friendly. Our T-Mobile service worked well on boat.

Shelter Cove is one of the prettiest marinas we have stayed at thus far. We were there two nights. Great communication upon arrival and had two dockhands to help. Docking went smooth on Dock i. Had great weather during our stay and enjoyed walking through all the shops right at the marina and all the way to TJ Maxx area. We ate at Dawg Tavern twice because they were dog friendly. Our slip came with courtesy bikes and we rode to the beach along tree lined bike paths. Simply beautiful. I wish we had stayed longer. Did not need fuel or pump out so no review on that. Only reason for four stars is that the showers, bathrooms, and laundry were too far to use from our dock. Otherwise, a great stay and would stay here again.

Very happy we chose to stay here four nights instead of Savannah docks downtown. Dockhand Frank met us upon arrival so docking went well. He is experienced, nice and checked us in. Showers were clean and close by. Laundry was good too. The marina is far from downtown but we had friends with a car so that was a bonus. Thunderbolt does have a courtesy car with a two hour limit that we used a few times during our stay. LOVE the option of courtesy car!! Walmart & Publix are in the same plaza and short car drive away. Tubby's Tank House restaurant is a short walk from marina and we ate there a few times. It's dog friendly too. Thunderbolt has two areas (one is screened in) for socializing and we had docktails with fellow Loopers. It was a fun stay but buggy with the no-see-ums this time of year.

This is our second time staying at this marina. Small marina and very peaceful. Had slip on outside dock so very easy in and out. Bathroom/showers are small but clean. Dog friendly and nice walkable areas for exercise. We walked to the European Village which has several restaurants and small stores – very quaint. Ate pizza at La Piazza Cafe – nice seating outside with the dog. Would stay here again.

Great Marina Stay! Had help at the docks and timed it around current so docking was good. Friendly atmosphere, clean bathrooms and showers, and nice marina store. Each dock has secure gate access. Manatees greeted us upon arrival. Dog friendly marina and having the dog park next door was a bonus! We walked to grocery store – Sav A Lot and ate at Hardware Store Brewing Company and Downtown Diner (both dog friendly). Would stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay here. Our slip was on the south dock and was near showers and free laundry. Showers were clean and we saw the cleaners there each night we stayed. This is a very well managed marina and shows pride in ownership. We were told the owner comes by daily and we even met him briefly while walking the dog. The social hour 3x a week helps to get to know your neighbors. We were there on St. Patrick's Day and had fun chatting with other Loopers and boaters in the Yacht Club Community Room with free wine and beer. There is a small exercise room but did not take advantage of it. Large library area for book exchange. We arrived at slack tide so no docking issue fortunately. Dock hand Randy was there to safely bring us in. Very pet friendly for our 20 lb dog who enjoyed the designated dog park on site. Courtesy bikes were available, and we had a nice ride to Yellow Deli (great food). We also ate at Reid's Apothecary – duck nachos were awesome and the best shrimp and grits so far`. Had lunch at Indigo Shanty – also very good and was quite busy for a weekday lunch. No big grocery stores within walking distance but we did walk to Adams Meat Market and found enough groceries to hold us over, but it is a small market and not in the best area. We would definitely stay here again.

We thought this was a great free dock. Would definitely return. We arrived mid afternoon with minimal wind. However the current was strong coming in, but we managed to dock pretty good. Even received help from two other boaters. It's listed as 100 foot dock and there were already four other boats there when we arrived. There is a small gray brick building with bathrooms. The men's was too dirty, but the woman's side was doable, but keep walking to the blue building-(marina?) that has cleaner bathrooms. This free dock is linked to a wooden boardwalk and several locals were there fishing but kept to themselves while we were there. We would definitely go back for one or two nights stay. Great for dogs, but nothing is walkable to go to. The dock did have one water Spicket, which we were parked next to and were able to wash our boat. Floating dock is a bonus!

We stayed here only one night and it was awesome. Giving it four stars only because there is not much around if you need to provision. There is a restaurant right there at the marina - Ichabods and it was great!! Wonderful vibe and delicious food.
Ryan helped us dock- it was pretty windy but all went well. Showers were clean as was the marina too. Would definitely stay again. We did not do pump out or refuel as it wasn't needed. Dog friendly -with a little park across the street.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

First time was a Sunday night. Lots of boats anchored but still plenty of room. Once anchored we took our dog to shore on dinghy and tied off at dinghy dock. The view of Miami is outstanding, especially at night. Only negative first night was a party boat with extremely loud music until 5:30 am. However, on the way back, we stopped on a Tuesday night and evening was very quiet all night. Was Awesome! Our anchor was set okay with one anchor adjustment. We also set the anchor alarm but was secure all night. Will definitely use this anchorage again.
