Solid concrete floating dock with good depths. Certainly pay attention to current and plan on moving during or close to slack tide. Stay as close to dock when coming in, especially at low tide. Room for 6-7 boats depending on length. There are public restroom in the adjacent park. During our stay the men's was reasonable but the womans was not useable. There is also a free pump-out just around the corner that you can easily see on the app "Pumpout Nav". I know some have stayed overnight at that pump out dock, but I don't think that's the intent. Great stopover location.

April 2 2024 pulled in to wait out pending severe storms the next two days. Nice to be tied to a secure dock with little fetch for waves to hit us. Also there are trash containers allowing us to get rid or our trash. The previous reviews describe this free dock. We been here many times since 2015 and the current can really rip so we like to dock during slack and facing out back to the ICW so we are looking forward when leaving. It gets shallow by the marshland at low tide so do not swing out too far from the docks when turning around. Thank you Jacksonville!

Free floating dock. No power. Water on either end. Plenty deep enough. Sign says rafting up is mandatory. Restrooms (not exactly 4 Seasons level) close by and up the hill. Great natural area. Free pump out around the corner at the day-use-only docks. Bring your kayak!

We launched our trip up the St. John's River from here. We had sixteen feet of draft at low tide, so no worries there. The docks are free with a seventy-two-hour limit and have no electricity but do have two water spigots at either end of the floating docks. There are two sets of bathrooms with the ones in the blue building being slightly more serviceable (bring your own t/p). There is a sign that says that "rafting of similar sized boats is required" and there are garbage cans to empty your trash. The setting is very natural with a big flock of Northern White Pelicans huddled nearby, in fact from certain vantage points it isn't hard to imagine that you are back in the 1800's. There are designated kayak trails throughout the marshes and if we had brought our kayaks, we would have stayed for our full allotted seventy-two hours.
Don't confuse these docks with the ones on the eastern side of the park, those do not allow overnight stay "without a permit" but where you'd obtain a permit is anyone's guess. An early morning stroll around the park noted quite a few fishermen using the boat ramp on the east side and tying up to those docks. The east side did have a working free pump-out station.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Spent one night here before starting a trip up the Saint Johns River. Although this dock was completely full back in late November, there was only one boat there when I arrived in early February. It's a long floating dock with a ramp to a fixed dock and land. Although the dock is in good condition, the park has litter and some broken glass. Plenty of space to walk dogs or do an exercise walk. There are trash receptacles and the bathroom, although not exactly clean, was usable. Some fishermen were fishing off the fixed dock. They are repairing another smaller floating dock farther up the creek that lost its ramp in a storm, but the workers were definitely doing the job in slow motion. Some current with tide changes. Lots of white pelicans. Helicopter training across the ICW kept things noisy for much of the afternoon but quieted at night. Good cell service on Verizon and Google Fi. Peaceful night. There is nothing nearby; this is the kind of place you stop for the night while in transit and move on the next day. I'd stop here again.

Nice dock. Enough place for 5-6 boats. You have water right at the dock. I use it to clean the sailboat and the salt from my anchor. After 30 minutes of use, I refill my water tank and my 5 gallons water tank for drinking. No alguea in it. Water is far away from the dock. Use it enough to have fresh clean water. No electricity at the dock. Not much wakes from fishing boats.

As one leaves the St Johns river into Sister's Creek there are two floating concrete docks immediately before and after the loading ramp. These are marked as No Overnight Docking. Just North of those on the North side of the park is a third concrete floating dock what is designated as useable by transient boaters for up to 72 hours. This dock is very stable with strong cleats and rubber edging. There is considerable current that flows parallel to the dock when at other than slack tide so plan accordingly.
A faucet on the dock provides water however there is no mention if it is potable. This is located in a beautiful natural setting complete with marsh land, and insects. Some of which are delighted that you are there so once the sun goes down you will may need to take actions to prevent bites. Lote of fishermen in the area both in small boats and standing on the docks. Also on the property is a free pump out. We did not try it but it appeared to be intact and operable.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Good floating docks. There is water but the algae in it quickly clogged our hose water filter, so maybe for rinsing the boat or anchor off but not drinking. Lock your boat up though when away or asleep. At 12:30am this morning some one boarded our boat. When I yelled at them and beat against the hull they quickly got off but still scary.

As folks have noted, the outgoing tide here is wicked. You will not be able to turn around on an incoming tide, so you need a port side tie.
Incoming isn't so bad, you may be able to turn around. The docks are in good shape and it's a snug spot in a blow. The bathrooms near the dock are so low that on high tides septic backs up into them and floods out of the floor drain. There is a better bathroom on the east side of the big blue building. Room for 5-6 boats, if full you can raft, or anchor across from the boat ramp.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

The dock was nice, but the current was terrible. The surrounding area had an abandoned feel to it, with overflowing garbage bins and off-putting bathrooms. The only thing to do was to exchange stories with fellow boaters, which was nice.

Nice concrete floating dock with a wicked current flowing through. There were 7 boats docked here last night. All the cruisers were very helpful to catch lines and help get docked. Very quiet spot but not really anything within walking distance. There are restroom with toilets only but they leave little to be desired. Would not recommend going to this dock if not experienced with current and defiantly would not recommend going in after dark. We arrived about 1:30pm and there were several open spots but it filled up quickly.

The dock is a good halfway point between Fernandina and St Augustine. The docks are very sturdy and the water is deep (15 to 20 ft on the outside). The approach can be tricky if the current is running, 1 to 2 kts at times. We always come in bow first and if the current is behind us, it makes for a carefully timed reversed thrust with lots of fenders along the side. On leaving, we just back out. There's no electricity but there is water on a long hose. The nearby park is good for walking your pet and stretching your legs. The on-shore bathrooms are not always open. Rafting is allowed when full but seldom used. There are no wakes and no wave action, very protected. The inside dock at the end towards the ICW can also be used and it has 6 MLLW even though it looks to be very close to shore. Please space your boat close to the other boats so there's as much room as possible for other boaters to use this very popular free dock.

Great free dock in a park. Shared water at the dock and you will need a long hose. No electric. Be sure to not leave too much room between you and the next boat because this is a popular stop in an area where there are very few good dock/anchoring options and we want to make sure there is as much room for other boats as possible. With that said, the current is swift and pushes the boats against the dock which makes coming and going difficult.

Excellent stop. No facilities. Floating dock fit with large cleats. Along-side ties only. Space availability is based on how courteously people tie; close together means room for more boats. Fills up by abt 1600 during migration periods. Often, other boaters will help new arrivals get tied up, but you need to be prepared and able to do it without dock help. Current can be strong, which makes coming and going "interesting." Excellent place for "slow boats" (6-7 kts) to stage for St. Augustine.

Stayed here one night in June 2021. Depending on the tide it is fairly tight to turn around. No one was here when we arrived so we made the turn to face back to the ICW for an easier exit. However the current and wind pushed us off the dock so it was a bit tricky to tie up. We assisted another boat later that evening who also was pushed away from the dock. Easy walk to the adjacent park but not much else there.

Great facility for a free dock overnight; docks are floating and in good condition. Can get full and we’ve heard they sometimes raft up boats when full, but when we visited early on a day in April there was only two other boats there and didn’t fill up that evening. One trick is to be aware there will be fairly significant current in or out of this channel, which is perpendicular to the ICW.

Thank-You Jacksonville. You can't beat a free dock like this one. The dock is off the ICW so the current is not as bad. Cement dock with plenty of cleats to tie to. There is room to turn around for boats under 50', should you want to change your side to tie up. Bathrooms are a walk across the boat ramp parking lot in a blue building on the east end. A water faucet on the pier. Everyone here seems to be passing through on the ICW.

Great free Dock. Well built and in excellent shape. There are 6 boats tied up along the long dock. Current runs hard. There is sufficient room to turn around if you go just past the dock in front of the wood walkway. Lots of birds to watch. Nice areas to walk the dog.

Long free dock. Dock is aluminum and in very good shape. Current can be strong so be aware when docking. Room for about 6 forty foot boats. Usually other boaters will help you dock. At least one water faucet on the dock. There is a webcam if you wish to look ahead of time, but there has always been room when we were there. Park and boat ramp a short distance away but otherwise pretty remote and nothing in walking distance.

The dock is first rate, the current can be strong and make it challenging to dock. On the good side, the current is parallel to the docks so it’s doable. On occasion I’ve even backed in when I wanted to be pointed out the next day. There’s not much room to turn around.
The bathrooms are sometimes open and sometimes not, depending on the season. I’ve never found them open during migration time. It’s an excellent area for pets, lots of room to walk in the adjacent park. One time I even rafted since the docks were full, no problem. The inside of the dock can also be used for docking but only the end 40 ft or so.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
