There is currently a barge and workers to the east of the center span but horizontal clearance is still normal. Two hours before high tide the board read 66'. With 64' air draft we cleared with no problem.

Bottom half of the northbound tideboard is missing but you can approximate clearance using the upper half as a guide. Clearance was over 65' at half tide.

New tide boards on North and South side. Read 65' two hrs before low tide. Assume it would be less than 65' at high tide.

No problem with this bridge. Southbound near high tide the board showed 66' so our 63' mast plus antenna cleared with no trouble.

With a 63.5" air draft we passed under 1.5 hours before low tide without touching. Southbound tide board read 64'. We've been told the bridge has a little extra clearance in the center.

Northbound - No tide board present but clearance was more than enough for our 63.5' air draft around half tide.

Proceed with caution. Got here an hour after high tide and the board read only 62'. Navionics users report lots of antenna scrapes. Seems it's only above 64' at low tide.

  • Marina Review for Alligator River Marina - Temporarily Closed

    Rating: 3

Beware of shoaling at the marina entrance. We have a draft of 5.5 and were not able to get in. It was windy the day before and that may have added to the shoaling. Dock master tried to help guide us but it was just too shallow.
