We draw 7.5 ft. Coming from cape May we rounded the ship John a shoal light on our starboard and weaved our way around the chart contours to "1C", the FIXED Green mark (a small truss structure at low tide stands 10+feet high ). Following Navionics maps for Raymarine we followed the middle of the marked channel moving at 2 knots.
The lowest depth we saw was 8 ft. Between the green "1C" and just before we entered the river 10/12/2022.
We then followed the river in its middle up to Hancock Harbor 3.7 miles. It was atleast 15 ft deep the whole way at low tide.
There is a beautiful seasonal restaurant and the rural marsh meets farmland is classic New England meets Chesapeake, We pulled our vessel their for a short haul to do some work and noted how active the gas dock and marina was. Imho worth a stop or a stay.
