Tide board sign says +3 ft additional at center. Went through at mid-tide falling; board showed almost 22 ft. Our 22 ft air draft cleared easily with at least 2 ft. above.

This is not a 25' bridge as described. Tide board for southbound is broken off above the waterline at around 19' marker. At midtide we estimated 21' clearance guessing from the board but due to Jan -June 2024 restrictions we faced a half hour wait for special scheduled opening. Bridge tender confirmed Southern Blvd is SAME CLEARANCE Flagler Memorial & Royal Park (which we'd cleared already w/o openings). she was kind to offer that info and saved us a 30 min wait.

Vertical clearance of 21' confirmed and listing changed.

Still no tide board heading East but board on other side showed 22.5' one hour after low tide. We clear 21' and had no issues other than sloooooowly dodging many manatees

  • Anchorage Review for Sunrise Bay

The recently placed "No Overnight" buoys are placed illegally - no permits were obtained - and are not being enforced. We have anchored here several times before and were eager to return to use this spot as a staging before crossing to the Bahamas. FLL police boats regularly patrol the anchorage, but have not bothered any of the (currently) 3 of us since we anchored here 4 days ago. Broward County Commission Member told a friend (local resident) on 11/15/22 that whoever placed the buoys has no jurisdiction over this water and only USCG or FL Wildlife Commission (FWC) could limit anchoring in Sunrise Bay.
