A very good place to stage for jumping offshore. 12 feet of good holding. As mentioned in other reviews wakes from ferries and other ships but minimal.
Shore access is limited to the docks at the Yacht Basin, which is a good place to fuel and water up, and it's a short walk to Arlan's grocery store for provisions.
A shrimp boat comes thru in the mornings followed by a pod of dolphin chasing whatever is stirred up.. An enjoyable way to sip a cup of your favorite morning beverage and greet the day.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Line up from the west side and don't cut the corner. Narrow channel means anchoring on the upwind side in line with the channel so be ready to deploy both bow and stern anchors. Channel stays deep right up to the sides. Good holding in mud.
Fishing boat traffic during the day, and crab traps in the middle of the channel, but not an issue if approached in the daylight. Wouldn't do it after dark.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
