Fox Town
- Location: Little Abaco Island
- Lat / Lon: N 26° 55.483' / W 077° 47.651'
- Depth: 7'-10'
- Tide: 2.0'-2.5'
- Description:
The anchorage offers excellent protection in winds above 15 kts from southeast thru southwest. When the winds are light or they shift more to the east or west, vessels tend to roll especially on changes of the tide due to a reversing tidal current that runs along the shoreline from east to west when the tide is rising.
Holding in the anchorage is good if you set in sand, but you must anchor at least 0.25 nm offshore to avoid a marl shelf that extends out from shore. You will know you are too close when you cannot get your anchor to set. Once your anchor is down, you can go ashore at the government dock, where a service station, grocery store and snack bar are steps away from the dock.
