Anchorage Review for Rum Point Basin

Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:5Holding:5Wind Protection:5Current Flow:5Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:5Shore Access:5Pet Friendly:5Cell Service:5This is a well protected spot just in from the inlet. Entrance channel marked well, private, stay in the middle or a bit to port for 9' at low tide.
Once in the depth contours on charts are good. Anchored in 7' low low tide.
Nice beach at entrance to stretch legs and get the dogs out.
You can dinghy across to AC.
Only downfall is the locals seem to get pleasure staying just off plane to throw the largest wake they can until they pass you. Then they go back to idle speed.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

convenient free dock in walking distance to resturants and historical sites. The ferry stops here that takes you across to Norfolk. $2 one way or $4.50 for unlimited day pass.
As mentioned before there are conflicting signs but this is a 36 hour max dock. Go to the town website and register your stay.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
