Nice free wall, with cleats and bollards, eight 30A power pedestals with water, trash and recycling. Bathrooms and shower building is fine and there are two covered picnic tables on a nice deck. The wall was a little high for us, but there are plenty of ladders. Popular spot with locals, but we had no issues with loud or disrespectful behavior. Close to town, with a McDonalds, Subway, Walgreens and other shops five minutes away and a Price Chopper grocery 15 minutes away. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

We had a good stay at the Mechanicville free wall. We were able to get six boats tie to the wall. There are 30A power pedestals and water. The bathrooms were very clean. The grounds are well kept. There were teens fishing and riding bikes, but they were not loud or obnoxious. A couple of cars came into the parking at night, but no noise or other problems. There are two good Ice-cream places in town. We spent two nights and really enjoyed our stay.

I was here 5 years ago and it was fantastic. Today. I can not say that. I'm rethinking if we even stay overnight. The teen kids running around this place isn't to be desired.
It seems to be an under 15 hangout… vulgar language and just plain loud moved me to write about this place. One of the two restroom shower facility was full of garbage/ dirty diapers Etc…. To the point that the door couldn't be fully opened! The police department used to be right behind the restrooms. They have since moved.. (and it shows). The wall is kept up. The power pedestals are working & even the water is flowing …. Besides the restroom it's not dirty.
We did take a shower. But I wouldn't leave my lady alone up there so i waited outside before going back to the boat.. Question I keep replaying knowing what I know now. Would I stop again? The answer is easy. No. I would have kept going and stayed on the lock wall and felt much safer!!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Nice free wall with power and water. Wall is not too high. Nice restrooms. The southern end of the wall can get overgrown with water lillieslater in the season, but overall a nice stop.

Another wall to stop at. Not as high as Ft. Edward. Bathrooms, cleanest so far. Shore power. Stop at the End Zone Tavern and Grill for dinner. Dunkin' Donuts and MCd's for breakfast.

Here in mid-June. Not much in town, but the free wall is great with power and water. Very clean bathrooms.

What a nice setup. 30 amps, water, restrooms, showers, and pumpout. All free. The town is nice too. Loved the candy store and restaurants. A better setup than some marinas.

We stayed with another boat June 1, 2022. Plenty of room to tie to the wall which is in good shape. Plenty of cleats as well as recessed ladders to the top of the wall. At least six power pedestals with water taps. 30 amp power so we used our smart Y to get 50 amp/240V. Two clean bathrooms with nice showers (basic but clean with lots of hot water). The pump out was not working due to a part on order. An easy walk to restaurants, a bakery, drug stores, laundromat, etc. The wall is free with a max stay of three days. This is a worthwhile stop.
