We are staying here as Ophelia passes through. There is 50amp power. This is next to a nice park with a playground & picnic tables. There is a kayak launch next to this mooring.
A gas station is a short walk away & there is a Food Lion that is a 15 min walk up the road. We will provision here before we travel further north.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

No complaints from me on this free dock. We arrived at the lock headed south and locked into the canal at the last locking of the day, pulled up here and and put our feet up. Took a nice walk around the grounds and out to the main road. VERY peaceful here! The next morning, we got underway and ran the canal to the Welcome Center (where we also spent a night). Great spot if you are taking the DS in at a more leisurely pace (which I recommend!).

Nice, quiet place to spend the night - be advised this is immediately north of the lock (locktender was very good!). Also the approach to the lock is very shallow in places - pay attention to your depth. Grocery store and a couple restaurants within half a mile, convenience store and gas station around the corner. Quiet park to relax in off the dock.
