No wind protection except due east and you can tuck up behind the island. Good place to overnight. Long dingy ride to get into town. Key Largo is not so accommodating for dingy access. "hint you can use the courtesy dock at Marina Del Mar (between, 12pm-10pm) 2 hour limit or dingy dock at Pilot House.

We were able to duck in here to get out of weather. Dockmaster was very accommodating. We ended up staying a week to wrap up some repairs. Access to 3 pools, restaurants, laundry and a Divers Direct steps away. Great place for a few nights. Well protected from weather (considering you are in the Keys). Canal was tricky at entrance (4.5 feet ml) but 18 feet the rest of the way.

Easy access to immigration and customs coming into Bahamas, both steps away. Fixed dock marina tough dockage with an east wind. Access to pool and marina bar/grill. Several convenance stores within walking distance to provision. If you arrive early you could anchor north of channel entrance until things open up.

Clean, well maintained marina. Smaller marina a little tight for our cat but the staff and location are great! Docks are fixed. We will be back.
