Good boatyard to get your own work done. Don't rely on the staff for anything more than a bottom job. Most of the work is subbed out. They left a prop loose on our boat and caused a bunch of problems. The owner did make it right though.

This is a bad place to anchor. The bottom is like 90 weight gear oil. We spent one night here and drifted many times. Ultimately hitting a sandbar. Stay away!

We spent 6 weeks on the hard dock here doing an engine transplant. Wade, Stephanie, and the rest of the staff are great. There is a pool and restaurant on site. The rates to be in the yard were a lot higher than they are in Port Canaveral. There is very little shade and the train goes by 30 times a day. The marina is nice and the people are friendly. We made lots of friends while we were here.

We were stuck here for 6 months waiting on an insurance claim. Really bad storms mean 4-6' swells in the slip. The amenities at the hotel aren't bad. There is a grocery store within walking distance and Stuart beach is nice to take the dog to. It is definitely geared towards an older crowd. If you are planning on staying a few nights, it is a good place to hang out. It is in need of an update, the concrete docks are falling apart and expect local fishermen throwing lines on your boat. If you are facing south in this marina expect to be bounced around constantly.

A good anchorage to hang out in. We spent a week here and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beware that the bugs will eat you if there is no breeze. The no-see-ums will ruin your sleep.

Current flow is crazy here. Lots of wakes from sportfishing boats who run 10' away from anything that they can hit. Definitely head south towards the end of the anchorage in Lake Worth.

The current here changes 180° and four times a day! We dragged anchor 3 times while we were here. It has large boulders below and we had crazy storms popup which made it worse. Your boat will turn with the fast current or crazy winds. Re-anchoring at 3 am around lots of other boats is not fun. There are mooring balls available, call the phone number written on them to pay. The water is clear, lots of sealife, and Peanut Island is always nice. This is a challenging place to stay. We spent 2 weeks here.

They will charge you for a 50 foot minimum. It is a nice and newer marina and close to downtown. It is very clean, the staff are programmed robots, but they are probably used to being abused by the mega yacht crowd. We spent a month here and enjoyed it. Definitely was a lot more money than we wanted to spend. We will definitely come back later on.

It was a little run-down while we were here. There are supposed to upgrading this marina soon. The staff was awesome. Close access to the beaches and downtown Ft. Liquordale.

This is a great cove to hang out. Pay your $20 to the Ranger's Station drop box, it is an honor system. Please do it right! Nice beach, nature trails, restaurants and bars, and not a far walk into town to get supplies.

A good place to spend a night after sailing for a long time. No amenities, we did have large lightning storms during the night and 40 knot winds. We held with no issues.

It is a long dinghy ride and super dark if you don't back in time. We did have enough light pollution to see the small islands. Definitely stay one cove south if you are planning on going to shore.

Beware of the height of the powerlines. Another sailboat struck them and knocked out the power to most of the lower keys. The shoals have also shifted and the channel markers are bad guides. Go slow and watch the depth gauge, not to get stuck. Continue past the Channel markers by an extra 1/4 mile when exiting to the Atlantic.

    • WG Editor Comment:

The power lines are charted at 76 feet.
