Marina Review for Green Turtle Bay Resort (Boat Works)

Very disappointing experience. The slip we were assigned to for two nights was roughly a half mile away from the main office and laundry. There was absolutely no advance communication as to how to negotiate around and we were ultimately forced to walk that distance in order to rent a golf cart to the tune of an extra $90 (the second day was free but there was no availability at the marina for a third night). We were able to use the cart to go into town for provisions and lunch, only to learn from our waitress at Patti's (great food and service!), that Patti's will shuttle you back and forth from the marina for free. None of this information was imparted by the office. We actually had to get maps of the marina and town from the Green Turtle Condo office.
While I am sure boats closer to the facilities had a better experience, this "resort" should include readily available, free transportation for boaters at distant docks, an advance informational packet via email, and less expensive laundry (1.75 for all machines) - not to mention as the ridiculously steep price of golf cart rentals.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Really nice stay. The management and boat club members couldn't be more gracious and accommodating. Lots of help at the dock, a $1/foot, and laundry is free. The only issue is that a 4' draft or less is necessary to handle the shallow water depth.

It's our third season visiting HMB Marina and we are happy to see that nothing has changed. Steve is till the most affable and accommodating dock master, running about to greet guest boaters warmly and to provide extensive marina and local info personally as well as by phone and text. Little extra details like taking our photo at sunset and gifting us with the latest America's Great Loop ornament make Steve even more endearing to us and our experience all the more special. Yes, it may get a bit windy inside the marina on occasion despite the break wall barrier, so extra caution and a slow and steady approach are recommended. Thankfully Steve tries his best to place boaters into one of the most comfortable slips available in that event. We certainly hope that our travels allow us to return!

We've experienced two great stays at Half Moon Bay - the first in June as we set out on a summer adventure to cruise the "Triangle Loop", and the second upon our return down the Hudson. Both times we were warmly welcomed by marina Manager Steve through a series of prompt, informative texts. Steve was also sure to greet us personally at the dock. As part of America's Great Loop Cruiser's Association we were especially delighted in June to be gifted with a pretty wood-crafted ornament featuring the Great Loop route attached to the comprehensive welcome guide. Also, as mentioned by others, the HMB docks are well maintained and protected by a barrier. We recently arrived on an exceptionally windy afternoon and Steve made sure that we had a perfectly comfortable spot. We definitely look forward to returning to Half Moon Bay next summer!
