They recently added channel markers from the ICW all the way into deeper water. Unfortunately, they did not dredge the mouth of the channel however, we never saw less than 3 feet under the keel. We will normally stop if the wind is favorable and there's a live band at Juana Pogoda.

We stopped at F & Y on our way out of Tarpon Springs and took on 400 gallons of diesel. He is currently pumping from a truck however, he had the best fuel prices in Tarpon Springs. I checked the marina next to Captain Jack’s and the price was $3.15 a gallon for diesel and the F & Y price was $2.63. Good water depth at the dock and a very easy in and out.

There’s actually more water in this spot than is listed on the charts. We are anchored in 7ft right off the channel. There is a 2ft tidal change so we did come in on high tide and never saw less than 5ft under the boat in the entrance off the ICW. Use the free city dock at the Clearwater Recreation Center for easy access to shore and the beach. For those of you with furry crew, they do allow dogs on the beach to the north of lifeguard station number 7.

I cannot say enough good things about Mick the harbormaster and the facility itself. Best location right at the foot of the main shopping district and very convenient to restaurants. We were delayed because of weather and then a mechanical issue and Mick held our slip which we were very grateful for. The river itself is very well marked, the marina has good depth around the slips however, be careful of the shallow area on the north side of the turning basin. Don’t miss Rusty Bellies for a great meal and specialty cocktails.

There are two shallow points you need to be very careful navigating. Once you get into the river you will find between 10 to 20 feet of water. The Kings Bay anchorage is a fantastic location very scenic with great protection.

As the previous reviewer mentioned their original facility was destroyed in the hurricane and has not been rebuilt. The new location and I assume temporary is a little bit further north and it’s called the Ice House. It’s about 150 foot side tie with four power poles. Overall good experience with a great location. George the owner super nice guy and happy to support him hopefully he will rebuild and provide additional amenities.

We had about a 20kt North wind So we tucked up on the northside near the condos. The entrance is a bit narrow but at high tide we never saw less than 7 feet under the boat.

We made an overnight stop at the Homeport Marina after our crossing from New Orleans. Always great service great gas prices ($2.69 with 10% discount) and friendly service. Had a delicious snapper sandwich at Lulus for dinner.
