Marina Review for Middle Bass Island State Park Marina

Best marina on the Lake. Unfortunately, no dock hands helping land, but boaters are always ready to help.
They power wash docks and don't care if they're getting your boat dirty. The docks themselves are cleaner than the restrooms that need a GOOD CLEANING and overhaul. Showers have mold and just not pristine as you'd like. Still, a must stop. No restaurants open during the week, so if you want to go to eat somewhere, you must head over to PIB or do it yourself. Bars are open at night. Still, a must stop on Lake Erie.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Marina Review for Portside Marina - OH

Tremendous Marina. Since Dr Bob & Jen Parry purchased the Marina and Restaurant, it has been improved upon every year.
Great Food (Docker's Restaurant), Great Amenities (Golf Cart Rental on premise, Ice Cream Stand, Missy Magoo's for trinkets and where you rent the Golf Carts). Jeni H and the staff at the Marina, Top Notch. (Look for the Orange shirts)
NEW Private Showers that are kept clean and in great repair. Very Reasonable rates. Our favorite place in the summer time. We take 4-6 weekend trips there a year. Free Wifi (not that we use it because I don't go to an island to get on the INTERNET) is a plus if you have kids.
VERY DOG FRIENDLY! (Important to us) Brian Terry is the GM and is on top of everything. Steve Brownell Plays every weekend and has special guests throughout the year. I don't own Portside, but I do basically spend as much time there as I can.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Marina Review for Scudder Marina

OK, If you're looking for a night life and plenty of amenities, you'll be disappointed. We had a day trip up from Catawba Island. First time into the marina, FOLLOW YOUR CHARTS AND NAVIGATION AIDS. It's a little overwhelming first time in worrying about draft (even though the lake in 2019 was up).
We docked and got tied up. The dock boy was doing his best (young and a bit inexperienced, but listened to instruction well and could get you in safely and tied up.)
There is NOTHING at the marina, no bar, restaurant, etc... We weren't planning on any of that. We did rent bicycles and toured the island peddling (It's why we went). The bike place puts your bikes in the rack and you pick them up and leave them right there when you return.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet that Scudders brings. Typical friendly boater atmosphere.
Cindy helped us through customs calling and where the little ice cream store is located right off of the marina.
The docks are very well kept and electric was strong.
The reason for the 5 of 5 is that if you're looking for a place to relax and just kick back and have a great time, it's Scudder's. We are planning a rendezvous there in August of 2020 and sending a shuttle of our own over on the ferry from Sandusky Ohio. Plenty of B&Bs in the area for our non-boating friends.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
