Strong currents with 10 foot tidal range will swing you 180 degrees depending on the wind.. Tricky channel along Clark Island but Navionics is accurate. Great overnight layover anchorage to time the Canal passage.

We anchored in the middle of the harbor at 41 43.22N 070 37.29 W. Holding is excellent in mud. Open to the SW which is the prevailing summer wind. There is a crowded dinghy dock shoreward south of the Monument Beach Pier/Marina. Shopping is a convenience store a 10 minute walk from the marina. Pizza joint, ice cream and a bakery are nearby.
