If you are transiting the mosquito lagoon there are few good anchorages off the ICW in good water between Haulover canal and New Smyrna. This is a very good stop overnight or a few days in good, sandy holding. I use it a lot. It can be bumpy if the winds are up from almost any direction as there is a long fetch. There is good fishing on the bar to the NE but also be careful of said bar. With a dingy you can explore many of the islands in the lagoon from here.
