Very nice place to stay. The marina Dockmaster and her crew are extremely friendly and helpful. The only cautionary note is that you need to coordinate entering and exiting the marina with the ferry boats which are on the 1/2 hour. Entrance channel is very narrow and two large boats can't pass easily. Wait a minute after the ferry boat passes through to allow its wash to calm and enter or exit the channel quickly due to the river current. Best at peak high tide.

Do not follow the ferry boats into or out of the Bald Head Island Marina or you will find yourself grounded. Follow the channel markers only! They may be big boats, but these ferries have a very shallow draft and can go where most boats can't.
