Narrow, but there seems to be plenty of water as we swing L & R near the marsh.

It has been reported that you should stay toward the south side of the entrance due to there some shoaling off the point on the north side of the creek entrance and that there is a submerged stump in that same area (it may have been removed because a stump that has been pulled out is on the shore. We anchored at the first bend in 8 feet of water. The only wakes were from a few fishing boats and PWCs going up and down the creek. Good holding in mud. Spent two nights.

Creek is frequented by local boaters who go full speed most of the time during the day, but super quiet at night. Went for a dinghy ride and about a mile or so up the windy creek we found a GREAT local convenience store/"trading post" - Blackwater Trading Post - that had great food, beer selection and local folks!! What a pleasure! Ok

Entered creek at low tide-5 1/2' depth @ S side of entrance then deepens to 9-12' within a few hundred feet. 150' on either side if you anchor in middle of channel. Room for 8-10 boats our size

Saw 5’5” briefly at entrance then 10-14’. Navionics seems accurate. Minimal current, the only wind protection is marsh so no fetch, fortunately good holding and depth maintained almost to the bank so just enough room to swing our 50’ on 5:1 scope. Bugs in August weren’t bad but you will need screens. Bridge noise was negligible. Loved it.

Fine for settled weather (which we had). Had 6' coming in and 10' inside. Some wind protection from the north. No wakes from ICW traffic.

The point shown on the north side at the entrance is usually under water with just a couple of tuffs of grass showing. Favor southern bank on entering. Anchor in 7-8' anywhere in the first half mile. Caution: 5' shoal reported at entrance.
