The number one most welcoming folks I've met to date. It's the real friendliness and helpfulness that other places put on because "customer service" demands it. The marina to Breezeway (full kitchen and lounge) ratio is weighted toward Breezeway, which encourages the community feeling. Also - hot tub. Need I say more?

I have been stopping in Rebel for 10 years. . This is not a fancy stop but it has more character than any you might find on the waterway. There is a waiting list to get a permanent slip there for all the right reasons. A great compo of working folks and retired Navy Brass. Spotless heads and a great room that supports pot lucks and local community events. Mostly floating docks . It is a legacy to Lane Briggs..a legend in Norfolk and the founder of the Schooner Race down the bay. Never much transiate space but if you like a bit of history and some adventure and like rubbing elbows with some real watermen ...give it a try.
