FL: Sawpit Creek MM 731
- Date Reported: Apr 18, 2025
- Reporter: Bob423
- Source: User
- Description:
Update: 12 MLLW as of 4/18/2025 on the Bob423 track (blue dotted line)
Sawpit Creek has been dredged, and you can now go straight through. However, the USACE survey after dredging is not yet in Aqua Map. See the attached chart for details on labeling of the ATONs. The numbers do not match your charts at this time.
Sawpit Creek is a regularly shoaling area and so I've left the detour route (in red) on the chart in anticipation of needing the detour when Sawpit Creek shoals again - as it will and has the for past 15 years. See this Alert before going through Sawpit Creek in the future to find the status of shoaling.
Note: the detour route in red does not shoal to less than 7.5 MLLW, even when the NOAA channel is impassible - but it is longer.
USACE = US Army Corps of Engineers
ATONs = Aids TO Navigation such as buoys and daymarks
Aqua Map = a navigation app for Apple and Android devices
Bob423 Long Track = blue dotted line
