Long Point is a sand spit formed over the centuries by the action of wind and waves. On the lakeside it has continuous sand and gravel beach. The bay side is less well defined and favors marsh and wetland. A small portion of the peninsula is now part of an Ontario Provincial Park and those portions not within park boundaries are held privately.
Long Point is a top destination for water enthusiasts due to its crystal-clear water and a sandy bottom full of dunes and shipwrecks, many in just 12 feet of water and visible from your boat.
