Bridge tender super nice. Opened a few before the top of the hour to let us through!

My husband and I approached this bridge today. The operator was a jerk. We responded on the radio accordingly, and he mocked my husband. Let's have a little more class and dedication to your job.

Yes the current can be strong here. The bridge tender is very helpful and will sometimes squeeze you thru a few minutes early if street traffic allows. This is a very busy bridge for automobile traffic. Especially on weekends.

Bridge clearance is confussing on the charts. 18 ft to low steel at MHW, with an additional 4ft at center. In all cases refer to gauge boards for current clearance.

Current moves pretty good through here. Ensure you have a good stand off distance before making your run through if there is opposing traffic. The west side (marina to the south/mooring field to the north) have good water.
