When the Isle of Palms fishing pier gage is at 3.75' the bridge boards read 63.5'. Tide ebbs about 1 ft per hour. Had to wait an hour for clearance, but there was a 20+ kn Northeasterly blowing.

Arrived 1hr before high tide and board displayed 63.5.' Perhaps 20+ knot winds over last two days could have effected river levels.

Like previous comments, we could see the clearance board from a good distance, at low tide (Charleston) southbound. It is the largest size board I've seen on the ICW since Norfolk VA. ???? While the bottom of the board was a bit obscured by mud and growth, it read about 66-67'. At an air draft of 63+, we passed under with room to spare.

Bridge clearance marker is intact and easy to read. Be sure to take tides into consideration, as high tide clearance can definitely be less than 65 feet.
