Draft: 5.5'Since Fall of 2023 boaters have been advised that the 4pm opening, which has been in place for years at this bridge, and is in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 117.997(i) does not exist anymore. The bridge tenders advised us that their boss decided to eliminate this opening. I contacted the USCG 5th District Bridge Branch today and they advised me the 4pm opening is codified in the CFR's and would be contacting Chesapeake City to rectify this situation.

Draft: 5.0'We try to hit Centreville on the weekends, or O'dark 30 when they are still on the demand schedule. It makes it much easier to time the trip down to N Landing Swing bridge which only opens on the hour & half hour during the day (incl. w/e's) for our slow trawler.

Draft: 5.5'Contrary to what the Guide says about the bridge tender having the ability to delay the opening for up to 10 minutes for approaching vessels, don't count on it. We were only 5 minutes away and the bridge tender refused to hold the bridge for us. Had to wait another 1/2 hour.

Draft: 4.5'Reported today on Facebook ICW Cruising Guide that the bridge was closed and would not open due to an issue, with no ETA. We called the bridge operator at 18:05 and he told us the sensor was repaired and the bridge is operational.
