  Excellent little Anchorage with amazing holding. Sea floor seems to be mud. It was wonderful with access to a Winn Dixie, Publix (where everything is over priced) and a West Marine, all within walking distance. American Glory, a river cruising ship with at least a 7 1/2 foot draft comes in and out of here on a regular basis. It's not difficult to get in, or out. Navionics has it marked pretty clear, so just mind your depth on your way in and the way out. When I was here there were 13 boats, including mine (four of which I believe are Derelict) and it could hold 2 or 3 more.

  NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109

  The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:

  1. Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
  2. Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term “superyacht repair facility” means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
  3. Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.

  DISCLAIMER: The laws and regulations governing anchoring in Florida waters are complex and everchanging. I would rate holding a 5 out of 5. Dropped a Rocna 22 in 10.5 feet of water to hold a 38’ IP and never I never moved even in 20 knot winds.

Rose Marina has a dinghy dock that they’ll let you use for $10 plus tax per day (totaling $10.70) until 6 PM. If you stay after 6 PM, they will chain your dinghy to the dock and charge you $112+ to stay overnight.
