- Description:
Palmetto Point Bay is a typical Eleutheran anchorage in that is is an open roadstead best suited for very settle conditions. There is protection from the northeast, but it is exposed to all other directions and there is always a swell. There is a public dock, but it is only suitable for very shallow drafted craft. The reason to stop at Palmetto Point Bay is that it is only a short walk 0.50 mile to the top of the hill to a service station. We do not recommend Palmetto Point Bay as an overnight stop. Pau Pau Bay which is 1 nm north is a better choice for spending the night.
