Bar Island

  • Depth: 15 feet
  • Description:

    Room to anchor outside of the lobster fleet moorings just to the west of Bar Island. Good holding in thick mud with shell in 15-18 feet low water. Very protected from all directions except SSW, but there are still several small islands to break up waves and swell. Bar Island and Potts Point are part of the Maine Island Trail and are available for public landing. Dolphin Marina has a dinghy landing if you want to visit their restaurant. The town of Harpswell also has a town dock that can be used for quick shore visits there is a time limit posted.

Yes, landings are available on Bar Island, The Harpswell Town dock on the east side of the harbor(for short tie ups only), and at the penisula at Potts Point.
