Île de la Couvee
- Lat / Lon: N 45° 28.521' / W 073° 30.269'
- Depth: 4.5 feet
- Description:
In a pinch when delayed at Saint Lambert Lock, vessels that draw less than 4.5 feet can anchor near the mooring field behind Île de la Couvee on the east side of the canal. This is a crowded area with little room for a long anchor rode and may not be appropriate in stormy conditions. Be careful of shoaling at the entrance and approach the markers at a slow speed. There are also power lines crossing to the shore here with clearance heights as low as 41 feet.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
