Church Creek - New Cut Landing

  • Location: New Cut Landing
  • Mile Marker: Mile 488.2
  • Lat / Lon: N 32° 42.532' / W 080° 10.858'
  • Depth: 10-20 Feet
  • Description:

Turn off AIWW at G"77" and proceed east into Church Creek for a third of a mile, taking care to stay an equal distance from the shores. Low tide will reveal the hidden oyster beds on the north side and shallow mud flats on the south side. However, dropping anchor in the middle of the creek will give you plenty of swing room and depth to handle the tide change. A lovely panoramic view of the sunset and sunrise, with the bonus of an anchor that will come up clean as a whistle.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
