- Description:
The 140lb CQR held fast on the first drop. Our 64' trawler with a 5' draft stayed put in north winds that gusted to 20kts overnight. The water was 17.3' deep (water line to seabed) at 4.8' AML rising. The anchor and chain came up completely clean. There was excellent Verizon cell service for our devices and to use hotspots. We did not go ashore. There were a few small fishing boats that kindly went by at idle speed until well past us. We appreciated that. Even with the high winds and strong current, it was a comfortable night.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
