Funseeker's Cove

Great cove with usable beach, good holding in sand, and excellent protection from all but the east. Dangerous, unmarked rocks on either side of the cove. Local knowledge only. Recommended three-point anchoring only: drop forward anchor and set it while backing down toward beach until nearing the limit of your draft; add aft anchors at the beach and tension lines at forward anchor, (Mediterranean-mooring style, except using anchors). Room for 5 to 7 boats. This beach is owned by the Portland Water District and is posted "Day use only, no fires." You may anchor overnight but are asked to remain aboard your boat between sunset and sunrise.
