- Location: Northern Exuma

- Depth: 6'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The Staniel Cay Yacht Club has installed a line of mooring balls opposite the yacht club docks. There is a broad expanse of open water between the mooring and the south side of Big Majors Spot where it is possible to anchor in settled conditions. There is reasonable protection from the N-SE but it is wide open in all other directions. In settled conditions however the greatest problem will be a constant stream of boats heading between Big Majors and Staniel Cay.
For longer stays there are better anchorages nearby, but a good reason to use the anchorage is to shorten the dinghy ride back to the boat if one wanted to have dinner at the SCYC.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
