Cave Cay South
- Location: Southern Exumas
- Lat / Lon: N 23° 54.100' / W 076° 16.160'
- Depth: 8'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
Located south of the marina entrance, the anchorage is on a narrow shelf of sand in front of a small beach. There is good protection from the prevailing easterly winds and the holding is better than at the Cave Cay Airport anchorage 1 nm further north. Using this anchorage requires good anchor placement because a difference of a hundred feet can mean the difference between a restful stop with good holding and dragging your anchor into deep water and being bounced by the current from Cave Cay Cut. The beach is posted as private.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
