Thunderball Grotto Moorings (FREE)

  Five moorings for vessels to 50 feet. Use at your own risk!

  There is only a very short period of slack tide in this anchorage. The rest of the time there are strong currents and usually lots of wakes from passing boats. We are including this anchorage more as a warning than as a suggestion because the bottom in under 10' of water is scoured with questionable holding. The holding becomes acceptable in +13' of water but then you run the risk of swinging into the path of vessels moving between Exumas Sound and the Staniel Cay area.  There are many better anchorages nearby.
